Single Parent Ministry

Raising kids in a one-parent home brings some unique challenges. Single moms and dads are often overwhelmed with many life issues.

Many single parents struggle with aloneness. But God did not make us to live life alone. This is why IBC offers multiple ways for single parents and their kids to build lifelong friendships and get the help that they need. The four major ministries for single parents address some of the needs common to single parents and their kids.

The four ministries are:

  • One Parent Plus Kids – Kids and parents get healing from divorce or absent parent
  • Kid’s Night Out – Parents get a night out while caring adults mentor and have fun with the kids
  • Car Ministry – Preventative maintenance and low cost repairs; also car give-a-ways
  • On Track – Community group to build your faith and provide friendships for life.

Also there are large events for single parent families: Back to School, Valentine’s Banquet, Christmas Store and a spring Carnival

Don’t do life alone. We invite you to take advantage of any or all of these ministries. IBC cares and loves single parents and their kids. You’re welcome and accepted here for who you are.

For more information contact Marsha Tribbett via email here or 972-560-4633 ext. 586.

“The class taught my daughter and me how to communicate better. It was great the way they incorporated the kids’ classes to coincide with the adults’ class subjects. Now we talk about everything the same way.”
- Kelly

“It was instrumental in helping us establish an effective, loving, one-parent family for us, and in helping us understand and deal with the emotional stages through divorce, different personality types and how to best deal with them, and how your brain works, and the importance of maintaining a positive outlook.”
- Theresa

“As a participant in “One Parent Plus Kids,” I have been encouraged in many ways. Being a single parent is very challenging, but I am grateful for programs at IBC that help to keep me encouraged. The people that work with the program have a heartfelt approach towards the families, which makes me feel welcomed. I have, in fact, invited other single parents I know, and they share a similar response. I feel this is one of the best ministries at IBC, and I thank God for everyone who works hard to make it possible.”
