I’ve been blessed to serve at IBC since the year 2000 and have been onstaff since 2004. Working hard to support the Children’s Ministry in various aspects and direct the Special Needs Ministry.
Wife to David, mother to Dustin and Danae our family has lived in Irving since 1987. While searching for a place that my children felt welcome we were turned to IBC and have been happy growing our faith and love for Christ here since.

Favorite Verse: Psalm 139:13-14
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

I have an amazing heart for God and unbelievable passion for introducing preschoolers to Him. My family, husband Harvey, three amazing kiddos, Devin, Jillian and Gabe live in Coppell. I am so excited to be a part of what God is doing in kids’ and families’ lives through Children’s Ministry at IBC, and know from my years volunteering here what a special Body this is. I was born in Kansas City, but raised in Lubbock, TX. (Go Red Raiders!) We have been in the DFW area since the Summer of 2001, and love it!

Born and raised in Dallas, TX. Attended college at Concordia University in Austin, TX with studies focused in Children’s Ministry. Met my husband Chris while in college and dated for 5 years before getting married and eventually moving to Eastern Washington where our son Ashton was born. After spending a few years in Washington we moved to South Florida where I began serving in a Children’s ministry specific position and my passion for working with preschool aged children was ignited!
We missed Texas and being near family so we moved back to the Dallas area where I am happily serving in Children’s Ministry with the support and love of my husband and son. I am excited to serve at IBC and cannot wait to see how God works through the children of IBC and their families. The best thing about working with children is the genuine joy and excitement they exude when learning about their loving Savior Jesus Christ. What a great example for the rest of us to follow!

Though not a native Texan, she still calls Texas her home. Melissa moved to Dallas when she was 18. She has always known from a very young age that God had called her to work with children. After many short-term foreign missions projects, Melissa and her husband made the decision to move to the sub-Saharan desert of Burkina Faso, West Africa where they founded a ministry called Kids of Hope. Eventually making their way back to Texas God blessed them with a beautiful daughter named Addison. Melissa loves to travel, loves good food, and loves working with children.
“There is nothing that blesses me more in life than spending time with my family and watching Christ change a child’s life before my eyes.”

A native upstate New Yorker, I landed in Texas 15 years ago as a state-side missionary teaching elementary school. I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education in 1992 from SUNY Oneonta. After two years as a Catholic school teacher, I taught for five years in public education. I earned my Masters in Recreation and Leisure Studies- Program Management, from UNT in 2002, and went into non-profit management.
Fast forward four years- my husband Jay, and I welcomed our precious son, Samuel Finley, into the world and our lives got turned upside down! What a wild ride it’s been, but one I would gladly go on again! Rounding out our family are our three fur-kids, Brodie, Ginger, and Blue, all wiener mutts.
I have been attending IBC since 2005, and then started working in KidsKlub the fall of 2007, finally joining the staff this past June. It’s my privilege to partner up with the great ministries we offer and serve your children!

I grew up in Houston, Texas. I have been married since October 2001 to the most wonderful man in the world, Scot. We have, of course I may be biased, the greatest son in the world, Logan. Because Logan is an only child, we thought it best to fill the house with 4 animals, ok, I thought it best. That would be 3 dogs and a 27 pound cat.
I spent 9 years working in the field of property management. I have worked all over the DFW area and loved what I did. In 2007, I gave up a life of 70 hour work weeks, suits and 5 inch heels to be a stay at home mom and have never looked backed.
I now have the greatest job ever! I work as the children’s ministry administrative assistant. That means that I do a lot but that that I am still able to wake up in the mornings and pick Logan up from school. The best of both worlds if you ask me!
We have been attending IBC as a family for since February 2000 and have loved EVERY minute of it. I have volunteered in almost any and all ways possible. I have been a greeter, helped in the Comfort Zone, Adventure Zone, been a small group leader for the middle school youth as well as volunteered with special events for children’s ministry for IBC.
