Registration has opened for the 2008-2009 Bible study: REVEALED-Seeking the Face of God....[more]
We engage, encourage, equip and empower women to become who God created us each to be.
We are a movement of women, all women, in our community and around the world. We are a sisterhood with the uniting bond being our womanhood.
We are not about joining a program, promoting an agenda, or pushing others down. We are about joining hearts and hands in lifting one another up to reach our God-given potential. We believe we can positively influence and improve the lives of women, and those they impact, through this journey.
We are a part of something bigger than ourselves. We can have life-changing and life-giving impact.
We can…and we will.
We: A Movement of Women will focus on these four areas: Engaging, Encouraging, Equipping, and Empowering.
Provide an opportunity for women to connect with God and each other. A few environments for this currently include:
Chick Lit – our caffeine-inspired book discussion
Retreat – a weekend long getaway with space for reflection, refreshment and renewal
Christmas Dinner – a beautiful evening of festive décor and fun conversation
Cheer women on and inspire them to lift up their heads. In addition to one-on-one relationships, we also encourage specific groups of women through:
MOPS – a gathering of mothers of preschoolers to celebrate motherhood and meet needs through relationships and resources
we:create – a consortium of creative craniums who express their artistic talents and help us communicate effectively
Provide environments to increase knowledge, nurture gifts and develop skills. Three outlets for equipping women include:
Bible study – a dynamic study including multi-level curriculum, small group discussion and interactive learning experiences
we:teach – an intentional investment in Bible teachers inside and outside IBC
Leadership development - a purposeful interchange with leaders in ministry inside and outside IBC to help develop potential, skills and direction.
Establish relationships with and support common cause partners - organizations who effectively impact women by helping improve their lives and possibilities. We currently partner with:
Brighter Tomorrows – a shelter and resource for victims of domestic violence
New Friends New Life – a support system for women leaving the adult entertainment industry
African Women’s Initiatives - improving East African nations through the lives of women
Human Trafficking Advocates – a voice for those that suffer in bondage to spiritual and physical slavery all over the world
Total population of females:
World: 51% of total – around 3 billion
US: 147,731,881
Texas: 11,103,492
Dallas County: 1,135,196
