Craig Pierce

Craig teaches on Sundays as a member of the IBC Teaching Team and has served on the IBC Elder Board.

My name is Craig Pierce. I was born and raised in Irving. My father was a family physician in Irving for over 35 years and we grew up attending Central church of Christ. It was there where I first learned of God’s love for me and his great sacrifice in giving up his one and only son, Jesus, on my behalf. I still cannot get over that simple truth we call the gospel. I have fond memories of my heritage growing up in this small community of faith. Although I had grown up knowing who God was all of my life, it wasn’t until my freshmen year in high school when my knowledge of him touched my heart in such a way that I felt compelled to respond. I was on a Young Life ski retreat and after hearing the gospel taught in a way that cut me to the core, I committed myself to living for Him the rest of my days. The journey began!

I attended Abilene Christian University where I met the best thing that ever happened to me, my wife Cathy. My greatest joy is spending time with her and my boys. Our three sons, Corbin Caleb , and Jacob all love the Lord and have been involved in the youth and children’s programs at IBC. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from A.C.U. and then went on to graduate school at the University of North Texas, where I obtained a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family.

Cathy and I have been involved in small group bible studies for over 20 years. We love learning from God’s word and doing life with a small group of friends who feel like family. I volunteer as an adult bible teacher here at IBC. I have also volunteered as a table leader in the Junior High ministry and Cathy and I host a high school life group in our home.. I have served on the boards of Irving Youth and Family Counseling Services and Irving Christian Counseling and I currently serve on the board of the Irving Friendship Foundation. I love Irving Bible Church and its commitment to teaching the Word of God and challenging its members to apply that truth in practical ways by reaching out to our community and beyond. I am humbled and honored to be asked to help in a leadership capacity at IBC. and will serve with great enthusiasm and joy because I truly believe that the local church is the hope of the world.
