Learn how to more creatively & effectively teach in a way that actively involves students in the learning, keeps them interested, and maximizes their retention of the key lessons being taught. Develop the skills both to teach in front of a group and to design and develop materials for teaching. Great for seasoned teachers and those desiring to teach for the first time.
Objectives:
Upon completion of this learning experience, participants will be able to:
- Make the focus of their teaching what the participant is able to say and do, not what the teacher or material says or does.
- Apply principles of adult learning to improve the effectiveness of their teaching
- Use proven techniques to design training that increases participant motivation to learn, retention of what they learn, and integration of their learning into their lives.
- Effectively facilitate learner involvement and learning in community.
- Extend teaching into a ministry beyond the classroom.
What this learning experience is and isn’t:
- Participative learning, not lecturing
- Learning together in community, not independently
- Lots of opportunities to practice, not passive consumption
