If you want someone to help you with an in-depth evaluation of your whole financial situation—income, spending, debt, saving, giving, and so on, we recommend that you meet in person with one of Irving Bible Church's volunteer budget coaches. Our budget coaches work with married couples and individuals.
What to expect from Irving Bible Church budget coaches:
Our coaches are volunteers who have completed Crown Financial Ministry's coaching training and desire to assist God’s people in setting up a budget and learning how to honor the Lord with their finances. Topics like investing, insurance, financial planning, and other related areas are not covered, other than to include these categories in a written spending plan if needed. If you are specifically looking for this type of help, we suggest that you contact a professional near you.
1. Coaching Process
Married couples should plan on attending together, otherwise very little can be accomplished.
The coach will discuss biblical stewardship and will explain what God expects from His children.
The coach will assist you in evaluating your present spending pattern and help you work towards a balanced spending plan.
Once the spending plan is agreed upon, the coach will act as an accountability partner with you and will inform you of other studies that will enhance your understanding of biblical stewardship.
2. Information Needed
You may be asked to bring your checkbook register, income tax forms, paycheck stubs, bank statements, current bills, or other related information.
3. Meeting Location
You will, most likely, be asked to meet in a neutral location where there are very few distractions and where there is sufficient table space to work on your budget. Many times coaches will use the facilities at Irving Bible Church.
4. Session Length
Your first session will run between 1½ and 2 hours. Subsequent sessions should run a little over an hour.
