Here’s a great example of community making a difference in a real, tangible way . . . this is from Nat Pugh, Pastor to Men here at IBC
Dana and I were having dinner last week when a lady beside us turned to me and said, “My son knows your son.” After a few questions and a little conversation I learned that her son graduated with my oldest son, she goes to IBC and the reason for the scarf around her head was the chemo she was undergoing. She was a single mom living alone and facing her disease alone. But not really.
She went on to talk about her friends from the Nexus Bible Community at IBC. She told of the meals, the visits, the house cleaning, the rides, sitting with her through chemo, and she went on and on. She concluded with, “I could pick up my phone right now and call 20 people from IBC and they would drop whatever they are doing and come be with me. It has been amazing to walk through my cancer with them with me.” Wow!
Way to go Bible Communities and Nexus!
