More than 130 people ages 2 to 72 gathered at Services of Hope to pack food, snacks and hygiene packs for people in need in the Dallas area close to Love Field. Children at IBC collected non perishable food for a month. This food was packed by IBC children and their families and used to feed elderly shut-ins, homeless people and also families.
One volunteer said, “This was one of the best days ever in Children’s ministry. We had such a great time preparing bags of snacks, backpacks, etc. Even the little ones got to decorate boxes of food for the homeless and handed the needy with a bag of hygienic items. The food pantry was organized to Theresa’s (the cook’s) delight, kitchen cleaned and so much more…all packed into 3 hours this morning.”
Research proves that children that learn to serve the body of Christ when they are young as part of their faith development grow deeper in their journey. These same people are less likely to walk away from Jesus and the church. We are grateful to walk alongside families in this way.
Here’s a few pictures from the event.
