Recovery (Tuesdays)
Every Tuesday at 12:00 pm | Conference Room · Irving Bible Church
When most people hear “the Twelve Steps” they think of someone battling alcoholism or drug addiction. At IBC, we believe this model offers so much more. We see the Twelve Steps as a powerful tool that any believer can use to navigate their hurts, that ultimately lead to hang-ups and then often destructive habits.
Whether it’s alcohol or anger, over-eating or co-dependency, we all have unhealthy ways of dealing with our pain and fear. In Recovery, you’ll learn healthier ways to navigate life’s difficulties while growing in Christ’s love with a community of people who struggle just like you.
Recovery sessions are offered on Tuesdays at noon in the Conference Room and Thursdays at 6:30 pm in the Youth Worship room (childcare is only available on Thursdays). All are welcome and no registration is required. You can access our campus map here.
What people are saying about Recovery:
“I always thought Recovery was just for drug addicts or alcoholics. It was great to find others who struggle with other things in life who understand me.”
“I wasn’t sure if Recovery was really a safe place to let go of secrets that had kept me so sick, so I gave a fake name for the first few times. I now know that we are serious when we say, ‘Whom you see here, what you hear here, when you leave here, let it stay here.'”
